At the Kankimäki starting point, you’ll find everything you need – before and after your hike
Kankimäki is the main gateway to Helvetinjärvi National Park. In addition to the parking area, you’ll find our restaurant and several handy services to make your trip easier!
Forgot your matches?
Our small shop offers souvenirs and local handicrafts, as well as essentials like mosquito repellent, matches, and camping gas.
WC and showers
From spring to autumn, our indoor flush toilets are open 24/7 and are fully accessible. Showers are also available for a small fee. Several dry toilets (outhouses) are available in the area year-round.
Water point
There is a water tap located in front of the restaurant where you can fill your bottles before heading into the park. The water is pure spring water, sourced directly from our nearby forest.
Family-friendly
We haven't forgotten the little hikers! Our restaurant offers kids' meals and high chairs. From spring to autumn, a baby changing station and a potty are available in the restroom facilities.
The "Kota" Hut
Our traditional Finnish Lapp hut (Kota) in the yard is free to use 24/7. Firewood is provided on-site, with extra wood available at the caravan park’s campfire spot.
Meet the animals
Not all our animals live on the main farm! During the summer, you can greet our adorable bunnies and chickens right here in the restaurant yard.
