Saunas
Sweat it out in Hell
Crown your hiking day or team-building event with a proper Finnish sauna experience!
At Helvetin Portti, you can rent two distinct saunas: our unique yurt sauna and the traditional farmhouse yard sauna.
The yurt sauna is a one-of-a-kind experience. Built inside a handcrafted yurt, we dare to claim it offers the best steam (löyly) you’ve ever experienced.
Our farmhouse yard sauna offers a small, traditional, and nostalgic moment of relaxation—perfect before a good night’s sleep.
The yurt sauna
The yurt sauna is located in its own peaceful setting by Lake Kankijärvi, right between our restaurant and the start of the national park trails.
Between enjoyably hot sessions in the sauna, you can stroll down the wooden boardwalk for a refreshing dip in the lake!
Facilities: A private pier at the shore and a small lounge area in front of the sauna.
Price: 35€ / 2 hours (self-heated). Heating takes approximately 30 minutes. Additional hours: 10€ / h.
Note: If there was a booking right before yours, the stove will already be warm.
The yurt sauna is not available during the winter season.
The farmhouse yard sauna
Located on our home farm, this sauna dates back several generations. Stepping into its warmth is like stepping back in time.
Throughout its history, the sauna has stood in three different spots on the farm before settling in its current place in the yard.
As in the old days, the water is heated in a traditional wood-fired cauldron (pata).
Price: 30 € / 2 hours (self-heated). Heating takes approximately 45 minutes.
Early access: If you are the first to heat the sauna in the early evening, you are welcome to arrive one hour before your official rental time starts.
Please note that our farmyard is home to free-roaming animals, including friendly dogs and cats.
